Quick post for this week

A quick post for today: a life study that's probably around 6 hours in with many more to go.

Today I saw two amazing shows: Masters of the American West at the Autry Museum, and the Syd Mead: Progressions exhibit at Forest Lawn. (which I had never been to and was amazing in itself! Couldn't find MJ though...)

Seeing so many masters of their craft was very humbling and inspiring. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Craig Mullins studies

Studies done in gouache of one my favorite artists, Craig Mullins. (www.goodbrush.com) He's kind of amazing.

Head drawings

Some recent head drawings. While there's problems I recognize in all three, I also know I could not have done these drawings a year ago. Progress...

Rocker

Here's the painting I did for my Dad for Christmas. A café racer with her Triumph Thruxton by the Ace Cafe.

I'll also include the drawing.

Boring reference...

...produces boring paintings.

An obvious lesson, but one I apparently needed repeated.

I did like the comps done for it though.

Some Watercolors

Three recent watercolors done for some family for Christmas. It felt like being back in George Zebot's watercolor class. Sometimes I miss those days.
